She knew too little about him… a name, a history, his wants in life. They had not discussed it because she was incapable of such discussions. She could not share her own experiences, or describe how terrified she was of bringing a life into the world. She had known it was a possibility, of course, but to have it happen to her so young? To entrap the man because she had enticed him with her frame in the depths of her first heat? That had not been something she had intended… but it was too late now.
It was done, and she was prepared at any moment for him to turn tail and run from her.
She would continue to lean on him, finding a comfortable silence as she closed her eyes. He wasn’t gone yet, and she was going to savor that for the moment, with some measure of hope that maybe she wouldn’t need to do this alone.
