Alarick
With each passing day, Al found himself growing more accustomed to the idea of staying here. The mountains, or at least some parts of them were not that bad. Although it would present an extra layer of challenges, he could see potential in the area Adora had found him in. He could envision himself living there and even see the potential for packs and group survival. If they worked hard enough at it, and remained together, that was.

Alarick had taken to exploring, venturing higher into the barren and open sections of the mountains. Some of the peaks were still held captive by snow and ice, but even here there were still signs of life.

Perhaps it was having a purpose again, or maybe it was the clear air. But he felt better than he had in a while. And he had to admit, some of the views were incredible. Especially as night began to fall, the sky west was painted with colors rarely visible from the forests below. While to the east, stars were beginning to manifest as darkness slowly encroached on the light.

Mika
While they’d initially hated the idea of sticking around up here, Mika now couldn’t make themself leave. Not after @Adora had asked them to stay. Not after whatever the two of them were building up. It felt better than just about anything Mika had felt in their entire life, and they weren’t willing to give it up just because they weren’t the biggest fan of the mountains.

For Adora, they’d make this work.

It was getting dark, which might not have been the best time to explore, but Mika was looking for… places. Places the two of them could stay. Places where they might find others.

That was a weird thought - others. But hadn’t Adora mentioned that, in her dream? If she was around, the thought of others didn’t sound so bad.

Maybe that’s what kept Mika’s paws moving up the slope, even after they caught the scent of someone else on the top. The colors were enchanting - something they’d never seen before - and they didn’t mind running into someone else to get a better look.

“Wow,” they breathed once they reached the top, momentarily forgetting they weren’t the only one there.

Alarick
To be able to look out at all of the lands, forests, and fields down below was also nothing short of incredible. Alarick wondered what it would be like to watch a storm from here, or one of the auroras with such a clear and unobstructed view. If Adora chose to keep them nearby, perhaps he would get a chance. Maybe living in the mountains wouldn’t be too bad, after all…

Wow, a voice breathed out from nearby, prompting the man to turn about, tensing slightly. Someone else had managed to ascend the slopes as well. A smaller feminine figure, probably around Adora’s age, and carrying the familiar scent of his newest acquaintance as well.

Recognizing this must be her friend, or at least a friend, Al relaxed, affixing a small smile upon his countenance. ”Would you happen to be Mika?”

Mika
Surprised to be addressed directly, Mika turned confused yellowish eyes to the stranger. They sniffed a few times, trying to pick up on his scent - they hadn’t met before, but he smelled kind of like Adora. Were they friends?

“Uh, yeah. That’s me,” they responded with a half-smile, wanting to make a good impression, if that were the case. Their ears burned a little hot - had Adora been talking about them? They hoped it was all good things, if that were the case.

They tipped their head to the side, studying the older man. “Sorry t’ say I don’t know yer name,” they apologized, offering a small wag of their tail.
