note to self: is vaguely set before Narime and Yuka come to BTP
Well, Iopah thought, so much for this.
She looked across the eastern slope of the mountain and sighed. It had been worth a shot, but it turned out as productively as her trip to the Fjord had been. At least there had been no disgruntled figure from her past to confront her here. And it would be a much quicker trip home from here. Her gaze left the steep slopes to the forest below, to her forest. A smile curved her lips. As much as she missed -and reveled in- time spent on a mountain once again, it would never feel like home. It was too barren of loved ones and stained with bitter memories for her to even consider it now.
Her head tilted to let a searching howl carry in to the peaks and valleys around. It carried the same way she remembered it. Echoing and reverberating till she could feel it vibrating down to her toes. But still, despite the intensity, it was an empty sound. Just one wolf looking for two that were not here to be found. The howl faded away with no trace of itself and Iopah started downwards. She had told @Koda, but didn't want to be late in returning a second time. The wind tugged at her coat and the woman made sure to leave a tangle in a scrub pine. She wanted Camio and Inkheart to know she had been here, that she was looking.
