The charge had the desired effect, forcing Morganna backwards (without actually toppling the alpha down – invited or no, she had no intention of souring the woman’s intentions towards her) in a scrabble. With her weight behind her, the much larger wolf continued to push the other female backwards. To what end? She was beginning to wonder when the alpha moved, lashing out as quickly as a viper. A growl echoed Morganna’s own, and she jumped from one leg to the other, trying to avoid sharp teeth. The silly dance could only last so long before the other woman lodged her head under Capable’s chest—
She was forced to jump aside with a surprised yip, temporarily staying the assault. But it gave the ruddy wolf an idea. She surged forward once more like the oncoming tide. It looked like she might crash into Morganna again, trying to hit her in the side – but once only inches away, she lifted her front edge up, hoping to come down on top of the woman. There was not much power behind it, not wishing to actually injure her back, but just topple the other wolf down where she’d had a better chance of holding her there – isn’t that what Arrow had always done to her, back when they were young?
