AW for one? Maybe a DEB wolf?
RE: A late season snow storm takes Relic Lore by surprise, take cover!

Finally, they’d decided to descend the mountain and enter more familiar territory. The woods were new, but at least they were more comfortable, with softer ground underfoot and trees surrounding them instead of rocks. They still didn’t go too far off, but they wanted to wander a bit - if the mood took them back to the mountain, then they would go.

Mika’s paws had taken them westward this time, following along a river as they went. They had no goal in mind, no destination, but they were happy for the treetops offering some solace from the sudden blanket of snow that had fallen over the land.

It took them a while before they found anything they deemed interesting - a bend in the river that took them down past a little waterfall and stopped at a frozen pool. Mika hummed to themself, curious, and slowly made their way over to the edge of the pond. Testing their weight, they took a few steps out onto the ice, tail swirling for balance as they felt themself slide a little.

Hey, maybe they could make a game outta this?

There was a sweet freedom in being able to move from within the confines of the territory. She was fairly certain that she had explored and claimed it all, and with recent events she found she even preferred to be alone compared to close to others. Tormenting lost some of it’s appeal with the fact that Euna was gone. She had been the easiest target, and her reactions had driven the behavior to a near merciless point… but with her gone? No one else quite entertained her as much. Everything felt muted, for a lack of better words, and she hoped new horizons might bring back the color she quite enjoyed.

She’d made her way towards a pool outside of the territory. It was one that she’d only been to a couple times, but she had a fuller intention to explore the area more completely… to find the nooks and crannies that were otherwise left aside. It was then that she saw them… her eyes focused on their form, taking them in… small like her, but not quite as small. Older than her, but not quite an adult yet… that was all she could see for the moment. She cleared her throat, mustering deep.

“Who the fuck are you?” She’d ask in a blunt Tori way.

lmao welcome welcome! That’s completely fine <3

Who the fuck are you?

Mika spun so quick their bad leg nearly slid out from under them. They had admittedly not been paying any attention to their surroundings, so it wasn’t all that much of a surprise that someone had managed to startle them like this. Eyes round, they studied the little stranger for a second as their brain caught up with the situation.

They doubted they’d ever seen a smaller wolf. Pale white with bright amber eyes, stockier than Mika themself, but definitely shorter. Very bold for someone of her size and age.

A laugh, pitched a little higher with nervousness, escaped Mika’s throat - a subconscious way to try and ease the tension of the situation. “Now, now, ‘s that any way t’ talk t’ someone ya just met?” they asked, offering a low wag of their tail. “I’m not lookin’ for any trouble. Name’s Mika.” They cleared their throat then, and, trying for a bit of easy humor, asked, “Who th’ fuck ‘re you?”

A laugh. A laugh. The sound grated on her nerves as they asked her about the way she was talking. What are you gonna do? Tell my father? Ha! Joke was on them. He was long gone. They were starting to sound like her mother… or any of her packmates… Bitch. It was a bitter thought that rang through the back of her mind and soured her mood, not that it took too much to actually do that. Mika… a bit of humor but the words did little to actually soothe the tension in her shoulders.

“Wouldn’t you like to know.” Her words were flat but there was agitation. Despite it all, she wasn’t worried. Despite it all, she was almost looking for a fight. They were older, slightly bigger not that it was saying much… but that didn’t mean she didn’t want to try and sink her teeth into their ass anyway. Maybe then she’d get her old mojo back and stop feeling like this. Like this muted blob that she’d been since her dad left.

“Now get outta my pool. This is mine and you’re trespassing.” Her banner would flag in the background, lashing from side to side as it stayed above the level of her back to show her own attempt at dominance.

Mika’s tail slowly stopped wagging and their brows knit together in a sort of confused concern. Kinda weird that a pup would be so defensive about a place like this, especially because Mika was confident they hadn’t come across any scent markers. This place seemed pretty uninhabited, they were sure.

Now, Mika was not a fighter, and truly every instinct demanded that they just turn tail and be on their merry way, but they didn’t feel as scared of this kid as they normally would. Maybe it was because she was so young, or so small, or so incorrect about the situation (because Mika was pretty sure this pond didn’t belong to her.) But it hardly mattered, did it? Something had to be making her lash out like this.

“Hey, now,” Mika cajoled, lowering their head down and letting out a low whine, submitting to the show of dominance. Appeasing, hopefully, the kid’s brewing anger. “It’s a pretty big pond, ain’t it? How’sabout we share?” they prompted, tail wagging a little. “I think we could make a game outta slidin’ on the ice.”

The established claim or therefore lack of did not matter to Torianna, nor would it ever. She came, she saw, and she conquered. She set eyes upon the pool and she declared it hers. She declared that the wolf in front of her was not welcome. At the mention of sharing, the pup spit at the ground and offered an indignant snort in response.

Even the mention of a game, something she had little doubt that she could win, did little to satiate her appeal… but it did work in favor of the loner who was encroaching upon her turf. When I win, you leave here and you don’t come back.” She challenged with narrowed eyes, clearly smug about the idea that she’d take it easy.

A lot of the adults seemed to hesitate on the ice, but not Tori… she was tough, and tougher than all of them combined. She wasn’t afraid of some frozen water, or unfrozen water. “Whoever can slide further in one push wins.” She had this, easily, and would get one hell of a running start to make sure if the terms and conditions were accepted.

The kid seemed confident she could win - aggressively so - but hey, at least she’d agreed to the game. Mika was satisfied with that. So they grinned and padded over to the shore - carefully, this time - with a wag of their tail. “Fair enough,” they said. It was no skin off their nose whether they won or not - they didn’t mind leaving, if they were beaten. “You win, I’ll leave y’ alone ‘n ya can have the pond. I win, we share.”

It seemed a very fair arrangement to Mika, who stepped to the side and waited for the younger wolf to make her move. “Y’ can go first,” they prompted. “Since y’ decided the rules ‘n all.” That way, Mika could see what the kid meant by in one push, so they couldn’t be accused of cheating if they got it wrong.

In spite of the kid’s prickly exterior, Mika found their tail wagging a little, excited by the idea of a game.

The only thing more appealing to Torianna than scaring her enemies off was beating them… and that included the stranger in front of her. In a game? It did not matter – everything was a fight as far as she was concerned. When the terms were proposed, she smirked and nodded, knowing that regardless of whether or not they were capable of beating her, she could always simply fight them off and chase them off anyway. That alone was enough of an assurance for her to continue to act.

She appraised the ice. She wasn’t afraid of it like the rest of the pack seemed to be… they all seemed to get so apprehensive around it though she didn’t fully understand why. To her it simply presented as weakness. No, it wasn’t presenting as weakness… it was weakness. Of that there was no doubt.

At the mention of her going first, Tori puffed out her chest and took a few steps back, her eyes narrowing as she settled on her target. And then she ran forward, charging with all of her speed before diving her front body down, sliding on her belly across the ice with a malicious laugh, crossing over the small pond almost entirely.

Ha, beat that!

Well, the kid seemed to be pretty invested in this little game now. Mika watched as she backed up, studied the pool, and then took off. The laughter, even if it was a little concerning in nature, brought a crooked smile to Mika’s face. It was kind of funny, really, that this girl seemed to only want to play just to beat Mika and claim this little spot for herself. As though it was a far more serious encounter than Mika themself thought it to be.

The kid got pretty far, too! Impressively so. Mika made an appreciative noise, tail wagging. “Nice one!” they called, taking a few steps back as well. Their running start probably wouldn’t be as impressive as hers was, because of the whole leg thing, but they were gonna try their best.

Mika scanned over the ice as well, trying to figure out the best way to go about it, and then figured they would just go for it. They bolted forward and copied what the pup had done, sliding on their stomach…

Directly toward her at high speeds. If the kid didn’t move, the two would likely collide.

She was confident that she could beat the stranger. In fact, she savored the feeling because she knew she’d be able to rub it into the stranger’s face when she beat them. Of that she was most excited, if she were honest. It annoyed her, causing her fur to ruffle as Mika called out to her and told her that she had done well.

What she didn’t expect was to feel the strange barrel into her at such a pace, sending her flying across and into the nearby embankment. Directly into her. It caused her to launch to her feet with a snarl, her expression turning immediately sour… it was an attack, she was certain! Her paws slipped out from underneath her for a moment causing her to scramble though she maintained her footing, her tail curling as it demanded dominance as she stared them down. “Bitch!” Her tone was aggressive.
