Charred Ash Draw moving slowly on my feet

Sometimes the world seemed far too large, far too frightening to endure. Sometimes she thought she might hole herself up in the main den and never leave for fear of the danger that surely lurked under rock and behind every tree. The disappearances had clearly affected her psyche, but they had not yet broken her, for sometimes, the wilds called to her, pulled her further and further from home. It was some innate piece of her, perhaps one passed along from her parents, that begged her to roam, to explore, to see the sights and sate her curiosity.

Today, she found herself in the heart of Charred Ash Draw, though its name was lost on her. She simply saw it for what it was now, an old, abandoned den site nestled between the ridges. It wasn't as great or as grand as the Backwater, but it was interesting enough to poke around in hopes that she might be able to determine what had caused its downfall.

Kiona had felt the changes in her, though she remained entirely unsure of what they meant… she knew, in theory… she knew deep in her soul that there was life brewing inside of her but had proven herself to be woefully unprepared for such a reality all the same. She found herself trudging through the central area of the Lore, looking for some sense of direction, and perhaps just someone who could help. She didn’t dare approach a pack borders now. She’d seen her mother lash out, pregnant with her siblings, right before she made the decision to leave. She knew, in her heart, a pregnant loner would be accepted nowhere, even if it would be best for Kiona’s survival. She could imagine her mother’s lecture now, scolding her for such reckless behavior. Of course she had known it possible, but it hadn’t settled in just how easy it was until her body and scent had started to change. And just like everything else? She was going to have to figure it out… and she’d have to figure it out herself. A shudder ran down her spine as she attempted to tuck into a den. A soft breeze would carry her scent long before she arrived, and exhaustion began to pull at her features. Some rest would do her good. Kiona Fire is catching
