I think it's been plenty of time enough and I'm sorry I've been so late on announcing this, but as I'm sure you know Kino is attempting to lure @Marianna out of RSC and maybe even @Kova if he can help it. Regardless of what happens in that thread, Kino himself WILL be leaving the Crest. Meaning that he's been gone for well over three weeks now from the pack lands. The thread takes place on 10/5 so any pack member(especially @Raelaor @Gent) is welcome to create a thread of finding him missing.
Sorry about the delay of information!

Halloween Festivities
It's that time of year where the staff of RoW put together a few fun activities and hope all of our members participate! We have a new, spooky skin made for us by Sarah to kick off the week, and more fun activities below to partake in!
Annual Pumpkin Hunt
It looks like the Spirit of Wildwood has once more hid some pumpkins around RoW — just in time for our annual pumpkin hunt! Think you can find them all?
This year, there are 15 pumpkins hidden throughout the entire site. The only places you will not find pumpkins are in IC threads, unofficial OOC threads, and actual player profiles. Everywhere else is fair game! When you find a pumpkin, make sure to write down it's location and hover over it to receive a letter. Once you find all 15 pumpkins, unscramble the letters for a spooky phrase!
Once you have your pumpkins and word, submit the information to the 'Spirit of Wildwood' account — everyone has until end of day on the 31st to submit! Winners will receive a ribbon for their profile.. and remember, don't give out the answers in the chat box and spoil the hunt for others!

Trick or Treat!
Halloween is quickly approaching, which means there's some ghosts and ghouls lurking about Relic Lore. What, or who, will your character find lurking in the shadows? That's for you to decide!
Below are 12 goody bags with a different item inside - either a trick or a treat. These items are random events that your character can participate in between now and October 31st. Select a bag by responding to this thread with the corresponding number of bag and which character and you will be given your prize. Since there are only 12 bags, it's to be expected that some characters will receive the same random event - I encourage you to take that opportunity to meet somebody new in the Lore and experience these festivities together.
Threads should be started no later than October 31st and completed by November 15th. The participants of the first three threads to be completed based on these REs will be awarded a special ribbon. All completed threads before November 15th are eligible for RE life points; if you don't complete it by then, the LP will default to whatever would normally be earned.
If no character is specified, the bag will be given to the account you posted with.

A Plague of Peccary
These shockingly destructive and invasive wild hogs have made their way into British Columbia! With the cool air of fall settling in, they’ve infested the forests of Relic Lore and will stop at nothing to fill their bellies as they get ready for the oncoming winter. These opportunistic omnivores will quickly present a real problem, even for the wolves – capable of destroying entire fields while foraging, these animals will eat roots, berries, shrugs, and they will also happily raid a wolf’s cache and eat the remains stored there. Loners stand little chance against an adult hog, and even a fully formed pack will struggle against this highly intelligent, well organized opponent. Winter is coming, and so are the pigs. Will your pack be able to fill yours stores while fending off the pigs that will so happily leave a wasteland in their wake?
The Pigs Are Coming!
In the far southern regions of Relic Lore, two scouts have arrived to sample the forest. Acantha has shown up in Fireweed Rise, where she has begun to root up the fireweed, leaving piles of fresh dirt and decimating the local flowers. Meanwhile, her sister, Amara, has entered Dragonfly Fen. She is often found near sources of water, seeking out opportunity for food and leaving the streams mucky in her wake.
If you would like to interact with Acantha or Amara, please post in this thread. These introduction threads are first come, first serve. Acantha and Amara will be played by staff members, and should not be NPC’d. When the plot progresses and opens up, there will be many more opportunities. If your wolf would like to investigate the damage without finding the pigs, you are more than welcome to do so!

Who doesn't love a little new blood on the site? This isn't to say that we aren't happy with the activity level we have now --quite to the contrary, we love it! And we think other people will love it too, which is why the administration has decided to host an Advertising contest! It will run from today until November 25th gobble gobble.Because we wanted to make this interesting, we've added some rewards for the people who show the most dedication to helping out the site.

- Advertising should be done on legitimate, active sites. (I will be checking).
- You must post the link to the ad you post on the site so that I may verify it. Any unposted advertisements will not count towards your total.

- You will lose a point if you break the rules of a site.

"Ello, 'ello, GH-ers. Welcome to the second half of October's GH Journal. Quite a few things have happened, check it all out!

A Pack Howl will either be posted late October or early November so the pack can touch base with one (still waiting on some Join threads to finish up). Please continue to keep an eye on your alerts!

A SPECIAL THANK YOU
In case you missed it, on October 12th, 2015, Borden Lyall, the original Leader and Founder of Grizzly Hollow (in both 2011 and 2015) passed away. A call has been put out by Hocus and any are welcome to join: (M) hold on to this lullaby (set within northern Whisper Marsh just a stone's throw away from the edges of Cedarwood Forest). Rook is currently having a break-down (and Veho is attempting to calm him down while Tomen and Jynx look on) but he will be needing any help he can get to give his father a proper burial...
I would also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for making Grizzly Hollow possible once more and for helping close one of Rook's on-going story arcs. While he did not accomplish in "curing" Borden's dementia/Alzheimer's, he did bring his father "home" to stay and I appreciate you all for writing with him (whether just this year or over the past five years on RoW).
If you would like to have a back-dated thread to close out any of your own story arcs, I am willing to try and keep Borden until late November/December before I finally turn him inactive. In his stead, Veho will now become Rook's second-in-command.
All in all, you're all awesome. Thank you~

We stand for a respect for life, altruism, and a need to maintain strong personal relationships with the whole of the pack - we would like for new pack mates to share this outlook.

A mandatory pack meeting is underway in Round Stone Crest.
This meeting will cover a lot of important topics and initiations for the pack, and so it is vital that your character attend. The thread is backdated to 10/5, and the first round will be ended on 10/12. If your character posts after this date, they will be considered late. If your character does not post at all, there will be IC consequences. More information is provided OOCly within the thread itself. Remember to keep an eye on the Event Tracker for accurate information on the progress of the thread as well as the next round end date.

As of 9/23, female leadership of Round Stone Crest was transferred peacefully from Cessair to Raela.
As agreed to between Evelynne, Jenandra and myself, this matter has been resolved out of character. Early morning on 9/23, Gent asked Raela to challenge Cessair for leadership. Evelynne has made it clear that Cessair would have immediately conceded to Raela, and so this is to be assumed as canon in character. A thread for the challenge will be made, and posted to as Evelynne's schedule allows. A pack meeting is in the works and should be posted shortly. |

LP Updates, OTMs, & Other News
We've got a lot of updates for you guys today, so let's get right to it.
LP Updates
After several discussions through the months of August and September, the staff has proposed and decided on a handful of changes to the LP system based off of member feedback. The changes are:
- 200 Minimum Word Count: Based off that site survey we did earlier this year, many people seemed interested in lowering the required word count for the site. We've decided to lower the count from 250 to 200, although we always encourage our members to write as much as they want.
- 3+ Posts Required for LP: In the past, we have always just gone with "gut" feeling to determine if the participants of a thread had been active enough to earn the LP. We've decided to make it a concrete number to make it easier for the staff & for you guys. In any thread, as long as you have posted at least 3 times with each post being roughly 200 words, you are eligible to earn LP.
- 12 Post Skill LP Threads: For demonstration, practice, and successful/unsuccessful hunt threads with +2 wolves, the required total posts has been lowered from 15 to 12.
- LP for Old Threads: A couple of months ago, we introduced a rule stating that you could not claim LP for threads that had gone dead unless there was substantial development in the thread. We've also made this a concrete number. If your thread has a gap of 2+ months in it (where there were no posts), there needs to be at least 3 additional posts in order to claim LP for it.
These updates will be added to the library and other relevant places on the site by our librarians shortly.

Hi guys! It's Sarah. I mean... you all know me, but I just wanted to extend my gratitude for an award I don't feel particularly deserving of. Ya'll are silly. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know how grateful I am to be a part of this community and build all these great stories with you, make art occasionally, and help people wherever they ask for it. I am always available to talk to people publicly and privately no matter the time or the reason, because I genuinely care about you guys. Even if it's as simple as "FIX MY TABLE!" :P

Ace just recently adopted the shy little critter from Silent Moon Plateau, the wild accident that occurs when one combines Phineas with Aponi. That she wins this (and many other WoTM awards) so soon after taking on the character truly speaks to her adaptability to play anything and bring us all great enjoyment. Since adopting Kyna, the little girl has hung out all over Relic Lore, from the Fen to Riddle Heights, meeting all sorts of new wolves in new places. Watching her develop with Wren after the death of his mother in this thread here has certainly been both interesting and heartwarming. We all look forward to seeing what Kyna does in the absence of her own mother. Stay gold, Kyna!

Leadership Handbook
Hey leaders, there is a new pinned thread in the Leadership forum that you all should check out ASAP. We've compiled all the essential information that you need in order to run your ship pack effectively. Have questions or think we left something out? Let us know so we can improve it! This is part of an effort to clean up the leadership forum and make sure all essential information is in one central location.
Character Chapters
Based off a suggestion posed to us in the site survey held earlier this year, we are introducing a new feature to the site: Character Chapters!. This forum, located in Wolf Central, is a place for you to keep track of what your character has been up to between threads. Did your character Bob go on a scouting trip around the borders? Did Bob find a particularly smelly patch of grass and decide to roll around in it? That's the kind of information that these blogs are for. Please review the guidelines listed at the top of the forum before posting. You may also use this forum to store extra items like avatars, skin codes, and tables.
To help you and others easily find your character profile, a new profile field will be added to your profile to link to your character chapter.
Chat PSA
The staff would also like to take this time to remind everybody what our main rule is for the site: Civility and respect is also important in RoW, everyone on the game should be treated with politeness and courtesy whether they are staff or not and in return you should expect the same treatment. We've had some issues come up recently where this rule is not being respected, particularly in the chat. We are asking that everybody please mind your behavior in the chat and consider how others might interpret your messages before you post them. We are also asking that character & pack plotting be kept to a minimum in the main chat. If you would like to use the chat to plot out developments, you are free to create your own public chat room or you can create a private chat room. If you have any concerns about what is being posted in the chat, please contact Rachel or Shadow so they can resolve the issue.

Fall is in full-swing now that we're in-between the autumn months, GH wolves! The leaves are changing and accumulating in piles (wherever there's non-evergreens in the Cedarwood...), and the autumn rain clouds are rolling over Relic Lore leaving puddles and a chill in the air wherever they go.
Please welcome Siki into the family as she has adopted our little Tomen. Come plot with 'er!
A Pack Howl will be posted so the pack can touch base with one another sometime this month (waiting on some Join threads to finish up). Please keep an eye on your alerts!
