Accidental AC
While setting up our AC to manually run I accidentally ran it. This means anyone who had not posted in the last 3 days will have been removed. Please just post in the join the game saying you were accidentally removed, you don't need a full re-apply and staff will re-add you!
BWP: Thirst Trap
Are You Feeling A Little Thirsty?
This spring things feel a little....dryer than normal doesn't it? RoW has now entered a drought that affects all territories! Small springs have completely dried up, and even the lakes and larger rivers have run almost completely down into the mud. Currently, only the largest lakes still have water: Turtleback Lake, Secluded Springs, Secret Falls, Bramble Falls, Lost Lake, and Iridescent Lagoon. The wolves of the lore are going to have to think creatively to stop themselves from becoming dehydrated!
Water Drops
What was once SoW food drops have been converted into random water drops, interact with them in your threads to bump of your hydration meter (previously the health meter) and stay alive! You can also visit the locations listed to fill your health bar once you finish your thread. Be warned though, as the drought drags on, these drops might attract other characters who are growing more desperate to survive! Hydration will automatically be docked on a bi-weekly basis (with the AC). As the plot goes on, the drought may get better or worse, who is to say?
So go out! Have fun! Get thirsty and look for water! While the health bars will drop automatically and we encourage people to use them realistically, if you feel like your character does not deserve to be as dehydrated as their bar has become, feel free to increase it! This is supposed to pose a challenge (which could lead to death if you wish) but we want everyone to have fun.

Hi everyone!
We need to run a quick poll coming into breeding season. In the case where there are multiple potential fathers for the litter how would you like this to be handled? Staff have come up with a couple options but we are open to other ideas as well.
Option 1: The litters are at the mercy of the lottery night rolling! First we would roll whether the litter is split parentage or all one father, and then a second roll would be done to determine who the father(s) is/are. This would allow players of the confirmed parents to collaborate, but it would be up to the mom to say whatever they want IC about the father.
Option 2: It is all up to the mom to determine who the father is, and if they are creating the litter alone or with the help of one or more potential fathers.
This Poll will end Monday March 14th at 7pm when the AC rolls.

Breeding season will officially close for new registrations March 28th, and all threads need to be completed by March 29th, prior to the lottery draws.

Didn't it just feel like something was missing with the reboot? Willow Ridge has now returned! A big congratulations to Kai, Cade, becca, Daisy, and Molo for all their hard work getting another pack off the ground! I for one, can't wait to see how their plots unfold in that familiar territory. This puts us up to four packs, and the game can currently support five, who will be next!?

February Contest
We currently have two contests running for the month of February! Our posting contest can be found here and runs until February 27th! We also have an ongoing advertising contest located here which is running until February 28th! So check them out, get hype, and get your hands on some fun prizes looking at you star of the next BWP.
Breeding Season
Registration- Registration opens March 1st and closes March 28th
- There will be no cubs if you breed without registering
- Mother's rank determines how many cubs you may be eligible for
- Leaders will be assigned a maximum number of pups allowed from 1-5
Subordinates 1-3
- Loner females must register their breeding if they intend on entering the loner lottery
- Please include on your registration: Parent's names, mother's rank, and a link to the breeding thread
Breeding- Breeding threads cannot start before March 1st, and must be completed byMarch 29th to be eligible
- Sexual assault and pornographic descriptions of breeding are 100% not allowed
- While subordinates are allowed to breed on a sitewide basis this does not excuse your character from IC consequences (ie. breaking pack breeding rules)
- The pup lottery system will be rolled by staff in the official discord on March 29th at 8pm EST. This lottery system includes assigning cub numbers to leader and subordinate litters, and announcing the winners for the loner lottery system. Please note, leader and subordinate litters can be smaller than the number rolled, but not larger.
- Once litters have been rolled parents can submit pup information to Spirit of Wildwood account, including but not limited to: names, genders, fur colour, alignments, and any other information of your choosing!
- This year 4 Loner Lottery Litters will be up for grabs!
Cub Lottery Night!
Cub Lottery Night will be held March 29th at 8pm EST, but how will it work? Well, below is an outline of how the night is going to run down. If you have any questions feel free to ask in this thread!
Leader litters are rolled first, the parent accounts will be tagged on discord and then a d5 will be rolled in the official-fight channel. The number rolled is the maximum number of pups in the litter, though parents are free to have fewer if they wish. Following each litter roll, a date will be assigned using a random number selector, choosing a number between 60-64 and the corresponding date being the assigned birth date.
Subordinate litters will be rolled second, and the process will be the same as leader litter rolls, although using a d3.
Finally, it will be the Loner Litter Lottery!
Based on the order that loner litters registered in the official registration thread each loner litter attempting to breed will be assigned a number (ie. if there are 5 pairs attempting, couples will be assigned a number 1-5). A dice will be rolled with the corresponding number (ie. a d5). The first 3 numbers rolled will be the successful loner litters for 2022! Following this lottery the mothers will be assigned a birthdate using the same method as the litters above.
Adoptions- A large thread with all available cubs will be posted in early April
- Players may apply for multiple cubs
- Parents may pre-reserve cubs
- If a player has not been found within 2 weeks of a cubs birth they will die. Cubs will also be considered deceased if they are not brought into the game in the AC after they become available. IE. If your pup is available to play June 1st, they would need to be activated by June 14th or they would be considered dead.
- If you're interested in a cub please pm both parents with your application. Please include in your app: Your name, current characters, how many other pups you've applied for, a roleplay sample, and anything else the parents have requested
Births- Cubs are born 60-64 days after the breeding thread occurs, the exact date will be rolled as part of the cub lottery night
- You may not back date or pre date birth threads. The day the thread is posted is the day the pups are born. If you absolutely must post your thread early due to in real life constraints, please message staff to get special permissions!
- If the mother goes inactive during the month she’s supposed to give birth the other parent has until the end of the month to write a thread where the Cubs are “found”
- Labour may be described graphically but please mark your thread {M} accurately
- Cub accounts can be made at any time, but parents please do not add them to the pack until they've been accepted to the site
- Cubs are playable 3 weeks after the birth thread is posted

Advertising Contest!
With everything upcoming in the Lore, it's the perfect time to bring in new members who can join in on the fun! As such, Staff are hosting an official Advertising Contest that will run from today, January 20th, to February 28th - just in time for the start of Breeding Season!
Prizes
There are 5 prizes up for grabs, meaning the top 5 advertisers will be able to choose (in order of ranking) one prize from the list below. In addition, anyone who earns 15+ points will receive an avatar set from Cade regardless of ranking.

Rules
The following guidelines must be followed for each advert to count.
- Always read the rules of the site you are about to advertise on before leaving our ad. Breaking another site's guidelines is not only disrespectful and a bad reflection on RoW as a whole, but will also result in a point being deducted from your total in addition to that ad not counting.
- Do not post an ad if someone has already posted one recently. Most sites will specify a wait period between ads from the same site, if they do not please wait at least a week.
- Advertising should be done on legitimate, active sites. Adverts placed on sites with no IC activity for over a month will not count.
- You must post the link to the ad you posted so that staff may verify it. If we cannot verify the advert, we will be unable to count it. Some sites do move ads between 'unaccepted' and 'accepted' subs - we will check for this for you.
- You must use the official advert provided below - custom or obsolete adverts won't count.
- Make sure you do not delete staff notes on your ad list.

[dohtml] Happy Birthday and Happy New Year!
Today marks one year of Ruins of Wildwood being back open! Time has absolutely flown and we've created so many plots and memories that we know will stick with us for a long time! That being said, it is our honor to debut the RoW Yearbook! to celebrate it's 9th year running! Relive all of the highlights and see what your fellow players loved most about each of their character's plots and the site plot in general and how the superlative voting turned out! We want to say thank you to everyone who has played a part in this achievement, whether you've been here for 8 years or just 1 day. Our membership is what truly makes our game special, and we are so grateful for all of you for choosing to spend your time writing stories with us. We're so excited to see where the next year takes us.
The yearbook is populated by content from you guys, and is filled with wonderful memories about what we and our characters have been up to the past 12 months. Along with releasing the yearbook, we'll also be switching over to a new archive for completed threads and the old archive will be closed.
We also have a new skin created by the amazing Cade that highlights our 3 alphas as of the end of December: Chan, Viorel, and Adelard.. and new avatars for all of the superlative winners made by our very talented Pinn.

[dohtml] Being eligible for MOTM voting
Hi everyone! It's your friendly neighborhood coder here. Due to some misguided code, only accounts where the master account is active in the game currently can be be voted for in MOTM voting. I am working to resolve this but the code is being temperamental about what I would like it to do.
Ultimately, not a huge problem, just if you want to be eligible for MOTM, you should make sure that your primary account in your linked lists is an active one. Otherwise, we won't be able to vote for you! I'll make another announcement or follow up here once this is resolved ^^ WOTM will not be effected by this coding bug.
Also, since I am actively working on code for the site, please make sure you are saving all of your posts off-site before you try to post them just in case I make a booboo in an update while you're trying to post and the site goes down! I always check after I update a script to make sure the site is up and running so it should only be down for a matter of seconds in the event of a crash. [/dohtml]
