Update Your Profile Day!

Happy Update Your Profile Day! November 18th will forever be known on RoW as the day to update your profiles. Many of us get into the habit of creating a character's profile and then not updating it as we progress through the roleplay. This is your friendly reminder to go ahead and take a look at their information and decide if it's still accurate. Also, for those of you who might not have looked at the profile for a while, take a peak at the new Den Location, Personality & CSS fields. Particularly if your character is a lone wolf, the Den Location will let others get an idea of where your character's "home base" is. Is your character filled with angst, despair, happiness on a regular basis? Do they frequently change moods at the drop of a hat? Let us know! And no more sticking your custom CSS codes into the Bio field. It now has a field all of its own. To sweeten the deal, for all of those who have joined previous to Nov. 1 and update their profile fields, you get a bonus 5 Development Life Points! To claim those, simply head on over to the Maintenance thread before Nov. 27th.

I would also like to bring to your attention the new Pop Up chat. If you click on the "RoWer Chat" title on the index page, it will show a pop up of the chat, so you can take it with you throughout your travels.

Also, now that we're approaching the end of November, I want to remind everybody to take a few seconds and head over to the OTMs voting page, listed under Fun & Games to vote for who they think should be Member & Wolf of the Month of November.

Halloween Contest Winners!

The Halloween contests were a bit slower this year in comparison to last but we aren't without winners! The staff would like to extend a warm congratulations to Switch and Vami who found all five of the pumpkins for the annual Pumpkin Hunt. In the end, the scrambled word was spooky.

Life Points Deadline

On a separate note, most life points that have been claimed so far have been rewarded. If you have yet to request the life points for your character that meet the specific requirements from July to present, you have until Friday, November 11th to do so! After this deadline, all life points will be rewarded only from the present.

Introducing a new feature & other things!

This has been a fair while in the works but finally we were able to get it working enough to present to you. So, with great excitement, we would like to introduce Life Points. This is the a new feature that will be replacing the reward system 'Runes', as we think that these points provide a much more interactive and beneficial way to engage your characters on RoW! The premise of these points are simple: during your characters stay at RoW they can earn (and lose!) points depending on naturally progressing IC events. For example if your wolf creates a pack, has pups, participates in a pack activity, joins a pack and so on they earn a certain number of points!

The points you collect are divided into categories — Development, Pack, Physique and Skill. However these aren't points you just collect for the hell of it — they'll help in a variety of ways, and we hope a few more we have yet to think off! But the most prominent one that comes to mind is a fairer (though note: not absolute) way of judging rank challenges or fights. Though this is not their only purpose, they will also be used to decide other things as well as determine things such as whether your wolf can start a pack or not and so on, to give you a reason to earn them... And, as much as silly as it sounds to admit it, they are just fun to collect and help develop your character!

Other things!

First off.. congratulations to Iceh and her Richter for winning Member and Wolf of the month respectively! A new member, you've been a wonderful addition to our community so far. In other news... Profiles have had a small remodel (and a temporary one for life points) and now feature a personality field that will disappear if not in use (so ignore if not interested) and the biography field will now also disappear if you decide not to use that either! We have also brought back the Den field so that you can select the area your wolf most frequents/dens in, which is especially useful now we have return of the regions. Also, please note, Game information is in the process of being moved permanently to the Library.

Happy Hallowe'en!

OoooooOOOOoooOOOOOO! Hope you are having a brilliant Hallowe'en weekend guys, full of pumpkins, candy, ghosts and ghouls! Luckily for you we have decided to treat our lovely RoWers instead of tricking you all. ;D

The most obvious prize we have for you is of course the new skin I made which features the wicked side of the moon jazzed up in a fitting Halloween theme. The skin is a special edition so enjoy it while it's there! And of course no Hallowe'en would be the same without a bunch of games to partake in, out of character and in character. With our usual tradition we introduce the pumpkin hunt, an OoC contest which tests your sleuthing skills and tests your wits! However, we aren't one to leave your characters out of the fun and if you fancy your character joining in on the Hallowe'en fun go check out our trick or treat post prompt!

It seems the Wildwood is not immune to the Hallowe'en season either and has been invaded with its own dark crisis in the newest random event where we find out the fate of poor Prosper Lyall.

Finally, on a side note, the activity check has yet to be done for this week so if any of you haven't posted in a week make sure you fix that now before you find yourself removed for the ranks! Also, stay tuned for a huge new feature coming to RoW soon. ;D

Whoa, What's That?

I would invite everybody, if you have not already, to go check out the IC Side of things. The IC boards have been given a make over to hopefully make things easier. The primary difference is the most recent post is now done by category, rather than individual forums. If you have any comments about the new design, whether negative or positive, we would love to hear from you, so reply to this thread net let us know what you think.

Additionally, a warm congratulations to our September 'OTMs! Our Member of the Month was SIKI, who plays Marsh, Kinis, and Trisden. Our applause also to the five winners of the Wolf of the Month: Rihael, Indru, Kinis, Jaysyek, and Crux. We would like to thank everybody for voting and invite all winners to claim their prizes in the Maintenance thread.

One final note, keep your eyes peeled for some additional updates to the board up and coming in the next week. Here's a hint: what your wolf does with their time is about to become tremendously important. =p

OTM Reminders

A bunch of minor updates!

Today was the first of our old routine activity checks which we have decided to bring back, where anyone who has not posted in 7 days (and is therefore classed as 'red') is removed from the game. Congratulations and well done to all of you who survived this one, and hopefully we'll see you around for many more to come! However if you are removed you're welcome to rejoin the game when you feel able once again. These activity checks will be running on each Sunday from now on, so make sure you're able to post if you aren't absent! The forums were also subject to a end-of-summer clean to dust of the cobwebs and make us ready for the ever closing autumn.

To mark the coming month of September and the new burst of energy and life RoW will get 4 new skins have been released, 2 were made by Chelsie and 1 by Frankie, so thanks very much guys! Go and check them out under the names of 'Safe With Me', 'Going Your Way' and 'Come Along With Me'. Unfortunately the last, 'Tremble', was made by me but you will have to cope. :P

Finally, for those of you with pack wolves, we are introducing a small new feature: private pack forums! If Hogwarts can have secret common rooms for their houses then why can't we for our packs? All sorts of secret goodies will be discussed in here by your fellow pack mates, such as meeting, plans for relic lore domination and pack activities! If you're not in a pack now is the time to get into one with a few sneaky little features we have planned along the way. But for those of you who prefer to stay alone we haven't forgotten you either. ;)

Congratulations once again for surviving the first activity check, and with August ending don't forget to vote in the OtM competitions for your monthly favourites!

Shiny New Skins

With the end of summer right around the corner and people getting ready to go back to school we thought we would store some of the old skins away and add a few new ones! The new skins are Piece of You, Beautiful Lie, Dying Inside, Circles in the Sand, Depths of Despair, and Scars of Your Love. If you can figure out what song lyrics they all come from, you get a cookie. :)
